Umair Raza is an avionics and systems engineering professional with 18+ years of experience across complex aerospace systems, radar and avionics, systems integration, project management, aircraft sustainment, and engineering education. He holds a BE in Avionics Engineering and an MS in Signal & Image Processing, and is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP). His professional experience includes systems engineering and integration of advanced avionics platforms, requirements and interface management, verification and validation, configuration management, acceptance testing, fleet sustainment, and management of large-scale technology programs. His current academic and research interests include radar systems, RF sensing, phased arrays, GNSS interference mitigation, UAV-based sensing, computer vision, infrared imaging, digital twins, and autonomous systems. At NUST College of Aeronautical Engineering, he teaches radar systems and supervises applied engineering and research projects, emphasizing the translation of systems-engineering principles into working prototypes, experimentation, and publishable research.
