Department of Professional Continuing Education
It was understood long time back that the sudden deployment of fresh engineering graduates in field will not be in the interest of the organization. For post-graduation field training and imparting professional knowledge with cross-disciplinary training to the newly graduated engineers, the PCE department was established at CAE. The responsibility of arranging training courses for fresh and serving engineers was handed over to this department in 1990.

Although, the Professional Continuing Education Department (PCE) is a later addition in the list of departments of the College of Aeronautical Engineering, however, over the years the Department has not only proven to be an essential component but has established itself as a centre of professional excellence for the conduct of short courses at the College. Besides the conduct of number of career oriented engineering management related courses, several core engineering discipline refresher courses are also organized under the ambit of this department. Its prominence has significantly increased when Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) outlined the requirements of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities through ‘Professional Development of Engineers Byelaws 2008’ and made effective from July 2010. As a recognized ‘Professional Engineering Body’, the department maintains a regular association with PEC towards the award of CPD credits for all the courses conducted at the College. With the help of modern technologies, especially in the field of IT, the Department plans to extend its reach to all Engineers working at remote locations through its ‘Distance Learning’ program. Fully IT integrated class rooms of the department helps in imparting quality standard education under ISO certification.
